ThinkFirst For Kids

ThinkFirst Iowa also offers free programing for elementary students. ThinkFirst for Kids is a brain and spinal cord injury prevention program designed for grades preschool through fifth.

The 45-minute presentation starts with an animated video featuring Street Smart the Safety Hero. Street Smart stresses the importance of vehicle, water, bicycle, bus, pedestrian, and playground safety.

A brief overview of the brain and spinal cord follow, along with a few fun demonstrations. The assembly concludes with personal testimony from a ThinkFirst VIP - a young person who has received a brain or spinal cord injury.
