Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
At Blank Children's Hospital, we offer comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pediatric rehabilitation services for children who experience injuries involving the brain or spinal cord, or other conditions that result in disability. Our multi-disciplinary team includes our rehabilitation physician, residents, physical and occupational therapists, hearing and speech therapists, dieticians, child life, chaplains, teachers, and social workers. We work closely with the family and other care providers to achieve long-term improvement in the child's ability and function. Under the care of specialists, our therapists help children regain or compensate for lost skills or impairments. We also establish an individual teaching plan for each patient and family. Our team works collaboratively to prepare for the transition from hospital to home, school and re-entering the community.
