Invite ThinkFirst Iowa to Your School

ThinkFirst Iowa's Unique Distinctions

  • No-fee Programming: Through grant funding and public/private sponsorship, programming and incentives are provided at no cost to participating schools and organizations.
  • VIP Involvement: A distinctive feature of our injury prevention programming is the VIP (Voices for Injury Prevention) presentation. A VIP presenter has received a spinal cord or brain injury as a result of a poor decision.
  • Youth Focus: The ThinkFirst Iowa program is geared toward middle and high school students. Our message is delivered through a variety of settings, including schools, community-based events, law enforcement partnerships and the Internet.
  • Statewide Focus: Our message is offered statewide and is not limited to one county or region of the state.
  • Reinforcement Activities: After our events students continue to learn and practice safe choices. Each student attending a ThinkFirst Iowa presentation receives a free music download card, which is redeemed after taking a short safety quiz on the ThinkFirst website.
  • Tested Message: No other injury prevention organization has our expertise, experience or longevity. ThinkFirst Iowa has been in existence for 24 years and programming is based on Rosenstock's time-tested health belief model, which utilizes science-based curriculum and VIP first-hand accounts.
